The documentary is an incisive and unflinching exploration of the life of Leni Riefenstahl, the infamous Nazi propaganda director behind films like Triumph of the Will and Olympia.

Meticulously assembling Riefenstahl’s archival footage, interviews, and unpublished memoirs, Andres Veiel exposes her lifelong attempts to rewrite history by manipulating her legacy and distancing herself from her role in Nazi propaganda while defending her artistic achievements.

Avoiding sensationalism, the documentary offers a thorough dissection of Riefenstahl's narratives, juxtaposed against incriminating evidence and showing how she blurred the line between art and complicity using her cinematic innovations to serve dangerous ideologies. The documentary not only interrogates Riefenstahl’s personal narrative but also raises vital points about historical accountability, the dangerous allure of revisionism, and the ethical boundaries between art and politics, underscoring the unsettling relevance of her story in today’s era of rising authoritarianism.
