On the surface, Ramon Zürcher's third instalment in his animal trilogy is a Chekhovian drama of a family reunion in a country house, where archetypal characters collide and descend into surreal territory.
Zürcher returns to their uniquely dreamy, disarming, and disquieting choreography of looks and gestures enacted mostly inside a house or apartment to process something of the state of the world.
The violence and the sense of everything on a boil here are relentless, and hope is a dream that shares its Schrodingerian fate with the cat shut in the washing machine
