How are works of art affected by the space they are exhibited in, especially when these works are uprooted from their original context? What happens when they transgress their new context of exhibition and archival? A playful, potent set of recent films by renowned experimental filmmaker Amit Dutta, holding a chance for relish and reflection.

Amit Dutta graduated in film direction from the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII) in 2004. His films have won several national and international awards and screened at festivals and museums, such as Venice Int’l Film festival, Berlin Int’l Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, San Francisco Film festival, Toronto Int’l Film Festival (TIFF Bell Lightbox), Oberhausen Film Festival, Cinéma du Réel, Rome Film Festival, Jeonju Film Festival (Korea), Vancouver International Film Festival, Venice Architecture Biennale, and Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York. Retrospectives of his work have taken place at various museums and festivals like Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, University of California, Freer and Sackler Gallery, Smithsonian Museum, International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen, Cinéma du Réel, Centre Pompidou, e-flux (New York), and KNMA (India). He has published six critically acclaimed books in Hindi and English on various subjects, including art history, children's literature, poems, novels, short stories, journals, and the water systems of the Kangra Valley.
