Shéhrazade, a sex worker, is reclaiming her body and mind from trauma. The lens traverses both outside and within her body to map her experience of love and intimacy – on the job or at home – and capture her healing. The fluidity of the form allows her to animate an inner world that the camera cannot capture.

Born and raised in India, Mantra Watsa graduated from the University of Mumbai with a BA in English Literature and History. They recently graduated from Doc Nomads with a master’s degree in documentary. They ventured into documentary cinema as a cinematographer, editor and director. Their latest film, Et Moi, Je Revis (Coming Back to Life), premiered at Hot Docs 2024, Toronto.
