MAMI Mumbai Film Festival reunites with Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films to create a platform to celebrate excellence in short films. This collaboration not only provides upcoming filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their talent on a global platform but also highlights brilliance in filmmaking, acting, and introduces innovative uses of technology for the first time, pushing the boundaries of creativity.
MAMI 2024 is gearing up for its next edition and is now accepting entries for one of its most awaited sections, Dimensions Mumbai, a short film competition with Mumbai as its central theme. The category was introduced in 2009 by Jaya Bachchan as an ode to Mumbai. Enterprising young filmmakers within the age group of 18–25 years are eligible to submit films for Dimensions Mumbai. The film must showcase Mumbai as the core theme and not exceed a maximum time limit of 5 minutes.
Shivendra Singh Dungarpur steps in as interim Festival Director of the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival at The Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), taking over from Anupama Chopra who in her long and distinguished tenure as Festival Director played a pivotal role in building the festival into one of the pre-eminent film festivals in Asia. Anupama will stay on as an active Board Member of MAMI.

The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival (October 27 to November 5) is excited to announce that this year’s Closing Night film will be Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla. Written and directed by Coppola, Priscilla is based on the 1985 memoir Elvis and Me written by Priscilla Presley and Sandra Harmon. The film stars Cailee Spaeny (Mare of Easttown, Bad Times at the El Royale) as Priscilla, Jacob Elordi (Euphoria, The Kissing Booth) as Elvis Presley, and Dagmara Dominczyk (Succession, Bottoms, The Lost Daughter).
