The latest edition of the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, hosted by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image, officially launched at Regal Cinema in South Mumbai on Friday evening. The festival featured All We Imagine As Light, a groundbreaking Malayalam-Hindi film that became the first Indian movie to win the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The film tells the story of Prabha (Kani Kusruti), a Mumbai nurse whose life spirals when she unexpectedly receives a rice cooker from her estranged husband.

In All We Imagine As Light, Divya Prabha portrays Anu, Prabha's roommate and colleague, who struggles to find a private space in the bustling city for moments with her boyfriend. Meanwhile, Prabha’s best friend, Parvati (played by Chhaya Kadam), is facing pressure from property developers to leave her home.

The film, an Indo-French co-production between Petit Chaos from France and Chalk and Cheese Films from India, features Indian producer Ranabir Das, who also served as the cinematographer. Upon its screening, director Payal Kapadia and the cast, including Chhaya Kadam, Divya Prabha, Hridhu Haroon, and Rana Daggubati, were greeted with enthusiastic applause and a standing ovation.
